Yaounde University Teaching Hospital Staff Call Off Strike

Following a strike action by staff of the Yaounde University Teaching Hospital, (CHUY) since April 1, 2013, the Minister of Public Health, André Mama Fouda, held a meeting to look into the problems of the staff on Thursday May 2, 2013.

The meeting took place in the presence of the Chairman of the CHUY Board of Governors, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, and a representative of the Minister of Labour and Social Security. At the end of the meeting, participants resolved to annul the disciplinary measures taken against the striking staff.

They also agreed to implement the National Collective Convention of government hospitals of the First Category, among others.
