CPDM campaigns fully took off in the locality yesterday, September 18, 2013.

The Yaounde V council area of Mfoundi, Centre Region has started mobilising supporters and sympathisers of the ruling CPDM party as they strive to maintain leadership.

Though the stakes are not as high as in other council areas where other opposition political parties have vowed to overthrow the CPDM leadership like in the Yaounde II council, party officials of the Yaounde V locality are determined to record a resounding victory so as to increase the chances of winning of their party mates in councils where the opposition is planning to take advantage.

The Divisional campaign leader for Mfoundi, the Minister of Small and Medium-size Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa said it was not because the opposition was afraid of the Yaounde V council by refusing to gun for seats that they will fold their arms and wait for election day.

"I urge supporters to plebiscite the CPDM list. Do not look at the names on it, rather focus on the overseer of the party, and what the party has offered and will continue to offer in terms of development," Etoundi Ngoa stressed. He however cautioned candidates to bear in mind that henceforth, the electorate will need a balance sheet of their activities be it at the National Assembly or councils.

The communal campaign leader for the same council area, Deputy Secretary General at the Presidency, Séraphin Magloire Fouda said though it was a CPDM versus CPDM affair in the locality, there was need for scores to increase to 99.9 if not 100 per cent. "My card, my vote for the CPDM was therefore his sing song as he challenged supporters to help the Head of State continue with his "Major Accomplishment" projects by having a sweeping majority in Parliament and councils.
