On the occasion of the Summit of the African Union held recently in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Cameroon University won the admiration of all, receiving kudos from participants, including the election of Yaoundé to house the continental headquarters of the Pan-African University Rectorate.

During the same Conference, Pr. Timoléon Crépin Kofane, head of Department of physics at the Faculty of sciences at the University of Yaoundé I, won the Kwame Nkrumah continental prize of the African Union.
