Young Rwandan accused of Marafa's secretary's murder released

Victor Muvandimwe was released from prison, last Thursday, following an order by the investigating judge.

Victor Muvandimwe can now enroll in a University, after having missed the exam at the Faculty of Medicine in Yaoundé he had prepared for, although in prison.

The Rwandan of 21 years old was released Thursday evening, 4 October. Tuesday, October 2, the investigating judge, Vincent de Paul Noah, who heads the judicial inquiry into the murder of Christiane Soppo Mbango, ordered the release of this former student of the college Vogt in Yaounde.

According to judicial sources, the order from the magistrate was sent from the Prosecutor's office two days after. Victor Muvandimwe have spent four months in jail where he celebrated success at baccalauréat D. captired by the judicial police from the mobile phone he was using and which belonged to Ms. Soppo before her death, Victor Muvandimwe was immediately presented as the murderer of the Special Secretary of Marafa Hamidou Yaya.

Arrested Tuesday, June 10, 2014, just days after the baccalaureate D, Victor was led to the Regional Directorate of the judicial police at the Centre. The young student was kept for three days and after a single hearing, he was presented on 13 June to the procureur de la République Tribunal de grande instance (Tgi) of Mfoundi. That same day, late afternoon, he was placed under provisional and fresh detention in Yaounde Kondengui central prison.

The Rwandan press relayed the information to the arrest of one of their citizens accused of murder in Cameroon. Gilbert Schlick, the president of the court entrusts judicial information to Vincent de Paul Noah. The investigating judge opened a new inquiry. He ordered the police to make a descent at Kennedy Avenue where Victor said he was given be telephone.

Two people were arrested that day on this commercial site. Then a third person was taken a few days later. After being in custody at the judicial police, they have been placed under mandate of pre-trial detention at the central prison of Yaoundé, Wednesday, October 3.
