Youth Affairs: National integration, moral rearmament as priority

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou has defended the sum of FCFA 9,272,000,000 before the Committee on Finance and Budget of the National Assembly.

While presenting the draft budget on November 30, 2015, Mounouna Foutsou said emphasis will be laid on the promotion of youth empowerment, civic education and national integration.

With the declining moral values plaguing the society today, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education stated that the major priority in 2016 will be the intensification of the national campaign on civic education to inculcate the notion of citizenship in youths of both rural and urban settings.

The youth population which Minister Mounouna Foutsou said is estimated at 64.2 percent requires training reason why activities of the specialized youth bodies such as the National Civic Service for Participation in Development, Multipurpose Youth Centres amongst others will pursue with its mission of socio-economic integration of young people in 2016.

The amount will also cater for infrastructural development as well as equip structures of centralised and decentralised bodies of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.
