Youth Ministry Pledges More Professionalism

Workers of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education have been enjoined to be more committed to work in order to meet the objectives of the ministry in 2014.

The call was made yesterday, January 16, 2014, in Yaounde during the presentation of New Year wishes to the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Dr. Bidoung Mkpatt. It was an occasion for the staff to evaluate the activities of last year and to plan for the New Year.

Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Joseph Yerima, gave a positive balance sheet of activities of the ministry for 2013. On his part, Minister Bidoung Mkpatt called on the staff to contribute their knowledge and know-how to meet the challenges ahead.

He used the opportunity to cite major priorities of the ministry for 2014 such as the putting in place of the activities of the National Civic Service for Participation in Development (NCSPD), the selection and training of youths, the functioning of youth agencies to ensure creativity and professionalism, among others.

To achieve this, Minister Bidoung Mkpatt called on the staff to create a synergy of action in their daily duty, show proof discipline, abnegation and respect of hierarchy in order to meet set objectives. The ceremony was preceded by a meeting of officials of the central and external services as well as the commissioning of newly-appointed officials of the ministry.
