In the message he devotes to them each year, the president of the Republic will speak to his young compatriots today evening.

The young Cameroonians will mark a halt Tuesday evening in the context of the different events organised on the occasion of the 49th edition of the Festival which is devoted to them every year to listen to the president of the Republic.

Indeed, the traditional message of the head of State is expected. This year, the theme chosen for this celebration is "youth and preservation of peace to an emerging Cameroon".

And to show the national character of the event, the Minister of youth and Civic Education, Bidoung Mkpatt gave the kickoff of this festival-related event in the localities of Bafut in the Northwest and Fifinda in the Ocean Department, southern region.

In a context marked by insecurity in some parts of the country, including East due to insecurity in the Central African Republic and the northern part of the country where Cameroon is committed to the war against Boko Haram, one can therefore imagine that expectations towards young people are strong.

Across the different march of support to our defence forces held in the capitals of region last weekend at the initiative of the national Council of youth of Cameroon (CNJC), young Cameroonians have marked their commitment to Republican institutions.

But tonight, youth are certainly waiting to see the president of the Republic address an area that concerns them at this moment: that of employment.

Last year, on the same occasion, the head of State had announced a forecast of 250,000 jobs in favour of his young compatriots. In his speech to the nation on December 31, Paul Biya returned to the subject.

"The benefits for the use of our growth policy, to which I referred a moment ago, were confirmed. 283 443 new jobs have been created in 2014. Our forecast, you remember, were 250 000".

The Ministry of employment and vocational training services already made forecasts of 350,000 jobs to be created by 2015. Triennial emergency plan prescribed by the president of the Republic to the Government should allow, according to forecasts in this Ministerial Department, them to perfectly complete this objective, or even do better.

But beyond the question of the creation of jobs for young people, which would allow each of them to reach a level of honourable life, the context lends itself to call to the compatriots to demonstrate more good citizenship and patriotism.
