Gang of three dismantled in Douala

Three male individuals named Nyafo Y. J., Habdouraman I. and Kwa E., were nabbed last weekend by elements of the Mobile Intervention Unit in Bonanjo.

Their arrest followed reported cases of robbery around Marché Congo, with women being the main victims. The hoodlums who later confessed some of their acts were cornered on Friday, April 25, 2014.

During interrogation, they revealed that on Monday, April 21, 2014 they attacked a lady by name Motcheut Amo epse Djoumessi, by cutting off her earrings. Later on Thursday, April 24, 2014, it was the turn of a Chinese lady, Weng Mu Fang, from whom they seized a necklace, amongst others.

According to police sources, the gang members hang around shops or along the streets, awaiting potential victims from whom they rob jewelry for resale.
