The party's stalwarts took the commitment at the party secretariat in Buea on November 17.

Committee members of Cameroon's ruling party across the six Divisions in the South West Region last Saturday 17 November converged at the CPDM party secretariat in Buea, to brainstorm on strategies that would get many militants register on the electoral list.

Chairing the meeting, Peter Mafany Musonge stressed on the need for sensitization of the public to get their names inscribed on the biometric voters register. Comrade Musonge equally congratulated the militants for their efforts following the brilliant victory they gave their National Chairman, Paul Biya in the 2011 Presidential polls.

Talking to CT, Mr Musonge highlighted the criteria needed for voting. "All that is needed is the national identity card and their physical presence to register and vote. We came to see how the registration is moving. ELECAM is mobilizing and we are virtually on the ground. The registration has started and we are saying that our leaders in the regions have to mobilize."

He emphasized that when militants have their names on the electoral register, it is the primary qualification for them to choose their Councilors, MPs and the President of the Republic.

The meeting ended with presentation of reports by the various section leaders.
