The Cameroon Oil Transportation Company (COTCO), responsible for the management of the Chad-Cameroon pipeline, declared to have saved in the State coffers, more than 200 billion CFA francs in ten years of operation of this pipeline, 1081 km long linking the Doba oil fields, South of Chad, to the oil terminal of Kribi in the South Cameroon.
This envelope represents the right of transit, tax revenues, customs duties and other taxes, and income relating to the participation of Cameroon in the capital of COTCO.
With the rehabilitation earlier this year of the right of transit of Chadian oil on Cameroonian territory, which went from 195 to 618 francs CFA per barrel, revenues are expected to increase, since Niger as well as the British firm Griffiths and its counterpart of the Empire of the Middle China Petroleum, have clearly stated their willingness to use this channel for the disposal of their products.
