A Brazilian consortium of companies, Marcopolo, Queiroz Galvao and logit, in partnership with the State of Cameroon, could start a system of mass urban transport by bus called BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) in the two largest cities of Cameroon (Douala and Yaounde).

This project was the focus of a working session chaired by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Jean Claude Mbwentchou on August 28, 2014.

Funding for this project should be provided by the Brazilian consortium, whose ambassador to Cameroon, Nei F. Bitencourt reassured of the financial capability of the consortium, which boasts an experience of over 40 years in the BRT.

According to the Brazilians, the urban transport system by BRT has the capacity to adapt to the structure of each of the cities served, regardless of its configuration.

Experienced for the first time in the Brazilian city of Curitiba in 1974, the urban transport system is in use today in hundreds of cities across the world, we learn from reputable sources.
