The Reverend Fonki Samuel Forba has been elected Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC).
Rev Fonki Samuel Forba was declared winner of the elections that was organised this Tuesday, 25th November 2014.
The elections took place during the 47th Synod of the PCC held at the Presbyterian Church Centre in Mankon, North West Region.
Rev Fonki Samuel triumphed over Rev Abwenzoh by getting 74 votes against 46.
In the meantime, the outgoing Synod Clerk, Rev Abwenzoh will be replaced by Rev. Fonchang Babila. During the election, Rev. Fonchang gained 70 votes over Rev. Christian Nganji who got 47.
The new Moderator and Synod Clerk, will serve for a five-year term of office.
After his victory, Rev Fonki Samuel thanked God for the opportunity to serve His people as Moderator.
He further expressed gratitude to the outgoing Moderator, the Rt Rev Festus Ambe Asana for the lessons on humility acquired.
The outgoing Moderator on his part, thanked God for the peaceful conduct of the elections and called on Christians to join in assuring the growth of the Church.
Prior to his election as Moderator of the PCC, Rev Fonki Samuel was Presbyterial Secretary of the East Mungo North Presbytery and Parish Pastor of PC Bastos since September 2013.
Born on November 23, 1965 in Bombe in Akwaya Subdivision of Manyu Division of the South West Region, Rev Samuel Fonki Forba is married to Rev. Dr. Perpetua Fonki and father of one child.
