24 shortlisted players for 2015 AFCON begin real business

The Head Coach of the Indomitable Lions Volker Finke has shortlisted 24 players to take part in the 30th edition of the African Cup of Nations,(AFCON) scheduled to start on 17th January 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.

Most of the 24 man squad are presently in Yaounde and were expected to converge this Monday 5th January 2015 at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaounde to begin training sessions that will run through 7th January 2015.

Aurélien Chedjou, has been excused due to an injury. Brice Nlate Ekongolo and Patrick Ekeng are expected to join the squad Tuesday 6th January 2015, the two players are contesting matches this Monday 5th January 2015 in their various clubs.

On schedule are two training sessions to be organised Tuesday 6th in Yaounde at the Omnisports stadium and this will be followed by a press conference to be given by team coach Volker Finke.

On Wednesday 8th January 2015, the indomitable lions will play a friendly match with the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the Yaounde Omnisports stadium at 3:30 pm.

The team travels to Libreville on January 8 after the game.

Their next outing shall be against South Africa on January 11 before leaving for Malabo on 16th.

The staff and fans see the AFCON 2015 as an opportunity for the young Lions to gain experience and revive the ailing football flames in Cameroon.
