“This sum will be injected to increase the hardware Park for handling.

"In 2014, nearly 2 billion was invested in mining facilities. By 2015, we will invest more than 3 billion for the same purpose. This will allow us to improve delivery rates. All this is made possible thanks to the unconditional support of the Autonomous Port of Douala” Aoudou Dandjouma, Pca of the operating company of Cameroon (Sepbc) wood parks, announced January 23 during a medals ceremony, the ambitions of the company in the logic of congestion at the port of Douala.

And beyond these perspectives, it was a question to highlight the importance of public-private partnerships at the port of Douala. Thus, in 2014, at the height of the congestion, Pad had granted the Sepbc extra spaces on the terminal with a total area of 6 hecter, to store the overage of wood. What greatly participated in the performance of port actor last year, with a total of 1 203 000 m3 of delivered wood, 871 509 m3 of logs and 331 352 m3 of cut.

And to stay on the performance, about 1 200 000 m3 of wood coming from Cameroon, the Central African Republic and the Congo are handled each year.

Joseph Beti Assomo, Governor of the region in the coast, having commended the good results of the Sepbc, also stressed some commendable behaviour of certain operators. In addition, he asked them to demonstrate firmness, so that these bad habits will not persist.
