Following a meeting by the Normalization Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) at the federation’s headquarters in Yaoundé, a time table for divisional, regional and national elections into the bureau of the federation was drawn.

The meeting which took place on April 16, 2015 also validated some of the proposals for the change of the statute of the federation and the electoral code following consultation with various stakeholders.

This included the draft regulations of various competitions under the aegis of fecafoot and the adoption of the draft calendar related to the adoption of text in connection with the electoral process. They also decided to publish in the nearest future the members of the various divisional and regional normalisation committees to oversee the entire process.

Football pundits of the Northwest are now waiting anxiously to see how the battle for the converted position of regional league president will unfold.

It is still unclear whether former president John B. Ndeh, who stepped aside in favour of his former protégé Kaba Christopher last year on grounds that he “cannot condone illegality”, will try his luck once more. But what remains clear is that kaba Christopher will be well in place to challenge whosoever will stand in his way.

Another heavyweight, Atah Robert, will certainly have oiled his machinery for a smooth ride to Yaounde along the election rail unlike last time when he only resurfaced in Yaounde after missing out in the regional election that saw Kaba walked to the stage unopposed.

If all three mount the rostrum, then the Northwest regional elections into the bureau of Fecafoot will be a ‘clash of the titans’ and will certainly generate ripple waves across the entire country.

Elections into the various divisional bureau executives will take place in all 58 divisions of the country between July 25 to August 5, 2015, while elections into all regional bureaux will hold on the unique date of August 24, 2015 in all regional headquarters.

Elections into the divisional bureau in the northwest will start with Menchum Division on Monday July 27, Donga Mantung on Tuesday July 28, Bui on Thursday July 30, Ngoketunjia on Friday July 31, Boyo on Saturday August 1, Momo on Monday August 3 and Bamenda-Mezam on Tuesday August 4, 2015.
