Glo -CAF Awards
These nominees for the different categories have been identified ahead of the 2016 Glo-CAF Awards to take place on Thursday, 5th January 2017 in Abuja – Nigeria.
These categories include: Women’s Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Club of the Year, Coach of the Year, Women’s National Team of the Year, Youth Player of the Year, Most Promising Talent, Referee of the Year, Football Leader of the Year, Fair Play Award, African Legend, Platinum Award and Africa Finest XI.
The CAF Technical & Development Committee, Media Committees and a panel of 20 experts (Journalists and TV consultants) are expected to select the winners through a system of voting but for the Fair Play, Legend and Platinum categories.
The Youth National Team of the Year which has always been amongst the categories to be awarded has been left out this year.
Another special category to be awarded, the Referee of the Year has been reserved exclusively to the CAF Referees Committee.
The winners of each of these categories will be made known at the Glo-CAF Awards Gala in Abuja – Nigeria.
