The anthem is a four minute, 37 second piece titled, L’Afrique au Gabon” translated as “Africa in Gabon”.
A number of renowned African artists, including Cameroonian born, Magasco came together to give more rhythm to the anthem.
The wordings not only celebrate the endowment of African football but also clamour for peace and unity in Africa.
It was sung in the English and Bantu languages and its rhythms are a mix of different genres including pop and R and B.
As it is the tradition, the anthem shall be played throughout the Africa Cup of Nations, especially at the beginning of each of the encounters and during special occasions throughout the tournament that begins on 14th January 2017 and ends on 5th February 2017.
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will be fielded in four stadia within Gabon. The stadia are found in Libreville, Port-Gentil, Oyem and Franceville.
