Joseph Owona, president of FECAFOOT Standardisation Committee made this known during a press briefing given Monday, November 17, 2014 in Yaoundé.

While congratulating the indomitable Lions following their brilliant qualification to the 2015 Africa Nations cup in Equatorial Guinea, the Standardization Committee of the Cameroonian Football Federation has decided to grant a special premium of 25 million Cfa Francs to Stéphane Mbia and his teammates.

“We have today decided, as we have done for the lionesses, to grant a special bonus of 25 million Cfa francs to these brave players, although not in the Federation's mandate to grant bonuses," indicated Joseph Owona, patron of this institution during a press briefing given Monday, November 17, 2014 in Yaoundé.

Concerning the bonuses from participating in this competition, Joseph Owona wanted to be reassuring. "The Fecafoot will do what it has to do. Decisions have been taken so things are much clearer. I believe that whoever will be elected president will be able to make a very potable preparation, he may take all measures before, should the transfer of the national team at the Fecafoot be effective".

Joseph Owona also held exonerated the Standardization Committee compared to the chaos that took place before the 2014 Brazil world cup where players had refused to travel on the scheduled date, demanding payment of their bonuses.

"I would say that we have been squeezed before going to Brazil. We had negotiated for more than three months with these players. These gentlemen were asking for 150 million francs per player. The media knew, but nobody mentioned. The fault is not often at the place where you see," clarified Joseph Owona.
