Hortense Vanessa Mballa Atangana, Hélène Wezeu and Stéphane Ombiogno will represent the country on Monday in a Judo competition in Russia.

The world judo finals has been scheduled to begin from 25 to 31 August in Tcheliabinsk, Russia. Only three athletes on the expected ten will be in Russia due to lack of funding. "The federation was been able to find two partners who supported the two athletes while the national Olympic Committee took care of the last," explains Alain Christian Kingue, president of the Cameroonian Federation of judo. The delegation however has high hopes for the competition.

First, Hortense Vanessa Mballa Atangana (-78kg, 36th world, 3rd African), was a bronze medalist during last month Commonwealth Games, Glasgow (Scotland), the judoka was also third in the Championship of Africa of Port - Louis (Mauritius).

Looking for points for the 2016 Olympic Games, its rivals are in the top 20 of the best in the world. But Hortense Vanessa Mballa Atangana, holder of bronze from 2011, intends to put in much this time.

Hélène Wezeu Dombeu (-70kg), silver medallist at the Commonwealth Games, is at the Franco-Algerian school of the Omar Gherran in Slovenia. The only male figure of the triptych is Stéphane Jordane Ombiogno (-90kg). Seventh in Glasgow and bronze medalist at the African championships, June, 'he holds the best performance currently', ensures Alain Kingue.

The Cameroonian trio hopes to finish among the 22 top of the world in order to pick up tickets for Rio 2016.
