Private and public Media have reported with disappointment the elimination of the national team from the on-going Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon’s national team, our darling Indomitable Lions, have been eliminated from the on-going Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

Ivory Coast 1, Cameroon zero! In similar words, the media in Cameroon have expressed their frustration. The national bilingual newspaper, “Cameroon Tribune”, “Le Messager”, “Mutations” and “Le Jour” newspapers on their front pages of yesterday, January 29, 2015 did not only carry headlines that revealed the fate of the Lions, but also how heartbreaking their fans were, especially Cameroonians, the first lovers of the Indomitable Lions.

The Post weekender on its front page reads “Finke’s Gaffe Flings Lions Out of AFCON”.

The Post reveals that the coach of the Lions, Volker Finke made poor choices during the football jamboree and this has cost the Lions elimination.

On its front page the daily private newspaper, “Le Jour” carries the headline ‘Triste”, meaning sad, with an image of the team captain, Stéphane Mbia, as he kneeled with his hands on his head.

In a two-page report on the Nations Cup, the paper says the Lions have ended their ride in Malabo.

“Mutations” gives a minute-by-minute report of how the fans of the Lions were disappointed as Ivory Coast sent them back home. According to the newspaper, Volker Finke took the Lions out of the competition.

“Le Messager” newspaper reads “Nouvelle désillusion des Lions Indomptables”. After the 2014 World Cup, the paper says the Lions leave the Africa Nations Cup at the last position in their group.
