The third edition of the tournament reserved for direct and indirect actors in the domain of tourism organized by the association for sports, tourism and leisure, ASTOUL began on Sunday August 2nd at the playground of the presidential guard in Yaounde.
In the opening encounter, the defending champion, Merina hotel beat Mirador hotel who are in their maiden participation in the tournament 2-1. Mirador opened scores before Merina leveled scores from the penalty spot. Merina got the winner just before the half time mark in the heated encounter that saw a Mirador player red carded.
According to the president of ASTOUL, Jean Baptiste Bamamba, the tournament is geared at bringing together direct and indirect actors in the sector of tourism in view of promoting transversal tourism, reason, why the launching ceremony of the competition was presided over by the Mfoundi divisional delegate for tourism, Djoumeni Pepin.
Eight teams are taking part in the competition namely; AS Sopecam who won the first edition, CRTYV, Mirador hotel, Sky One radio, Djeuga Palace, Hotel le depute, Simson hotel, Merina, Winner’s chapel, Fondation FACT, Mont Febe hotel and Eneo. The competition will end on Saturday, 12th December with the finals at the Presidential guard complex in Obili-Yaounde.
