A delegation led by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua, and the President of the Cameroon Federation of Basketball, Samuel Ndukwo, inspected final rehabilitation works at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex on September 22, 2015.
This was in anticipation for the 24th edition of the Afrobasket Women competition that will kick off on Thursday, September 24, 2015, and end on October 3, 2015.
They visited the various sections of the complex as well as the main training center. Minister Adoum Garoua gave assurances that the competition will effectively hold but insisted the little work left should be completed to ameliorate the situation of certain sections.
Cameroon will be welcoming 12 countries for the tournament and will play alongside Mozambique, South Africa, Gabon, Uganda, Mali in Group A, while Angola, Senegal, Guinea Conakry, Egypt, Algeria and Nigeria will play in Group B. Meanwhile, the Indomitable Lionesses of the Orange Ball have started training at the Yaounde Mont Febe hotel to prepare for their first encounter against Mozambique on Thursday.
