Egyptian giants Al Ahly believe they can upset Coton Sport in Garoua, in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup semi-final tie this Saturday.

The ‘Cotonculteurs’ are no strangers to the Red Devils, who defeated them twice in the CAF Champions League already, on their way to lifting the trophy.

Al Ahly had enjoyed a 4-2 aggregate win in the final of the 2008 edition, before edging the Cameroonians on penalties in last year’s semi-finals.

And they vow to get past Coton Sport for the third time to become the first Egyptian side ever to be crowned in Africa's second-tier clubs competition.

“We are very familiar with Coton Sport, and we know how difficult it is to play them in Garoua.” Ahly official and former club’s star Taher El-Sheikh said on Ahly’s website.

“We are confident that we can get a positive result on the road that would make our mission in Cairo easy.”

To achieve their goal, the Red Devils will hope to keep the momentum going after scooping the Egypt’s Super Cup at the hands of arch-rivals Zamalek.

“We have to play with the same spirit that we showed in our Super Cup match against Zamalek. We have to make use of it again,” El-Sheikh added.
