The 60-year-old former Indomitable Lions’ football goalkeeper made this appeal on his Facebook account.

Mr Bell requested that Cameroonians should descend to the streets after he was declared ineligible to contest as President of Cameroon’s Football Federation (FECAFOOT) on November 20, 2014.

The elections of the FECAFOOT national executive will hold on November 29, 2014 in Yaounde.

Mr Bell stated: “I think they want everybody into the streets! We shall all come out! I believe we need to change the regime now. Enough is enough! Cameroon must change!”

In addition, the two-time Africa Nations Cup champion said: “How are rebellions born? You can deny a bone to a dog, but you cannot deprive somebody from his/her liberty. Israel was under Egyptian enslavement for over four decades, blacks were subjected to slavery, but freedom always prevails! This time around, we say no to FIFA and CAF!”

Reports indicate that tracts have started circulating in towns like Douala, Garoua, Bamenda and Bafoussam to woo people into this venture.

Meanwhile, four other candidates; Atah Robert Bahazah, Mebande Brigitte Abdoul Bagui, Nyongha Jules Frederic and Penne Robert have equally been disqualified to run in the FECAFOOT elections.

The FECAFOOT Normalisation Committee headed by Professor Joseph Owona revealed in a press conference on November 20, 2014 that these candidates presented incomplete dossiers. This leaves Tombi A Roko Siddiki as the sole candidate to replace Iya Mohamed.

The former FECAFOOT boss is currently at the Kondengui Maximum Prison on charges of mismanagement at the National Cotton Company, SODECOTON.
