CEMAC Cup: Indomitable Lions A eliminated in semi-final

The 9th edition of the CEMAC Cup (Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa) which is being played in Equatorial Guinea since Sunday, 30 November 2014, has reached the final stage.

The Republic of Congo and the Chad made it to the finals. The Red Devils and Sao qualified Tuesday evening after the semi-finals played against their opponents who were favorites at the beginning of the competition.

In Malabo, Congo beat Cameroon by 2 goals to 0. The Indomitable Lions A whom have long dominated unchallenged in the regional competition, became a shadow of themselves.

In Bata, Chad also beat by 2 goals to 0, Equatorial Guinea. Thus, the hosts did not live up to the predictions that made them the biggest favorites.

Equatorial Guinea has used this event to assess its selection at short notice to replace Morocco as the host country, automatically qualifying them for the AFCON 2015 finals.

The unfortunate semifinalists meet Saturday as the Chadians and Congolese also meet for the final. Congo who has won the trophy twice while Chad will try to win for the first time.
