The Cadet Lions yesterday took a long stride towards the 2015 Nations Cup in Niger, progressing into the next round after holding opponents, baby Stallions 0-0 at home in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
According to the Team Press Officer, Albert Njie Mbonde, the Cadet Lions had a good defense with Martin Hongla and Brice Monga on the alert in the sentinel.
Though playing with numeric inferiority, following the sack of Lions goalkeeper, Pierre Abogo with a red card, the substitute goalkeeper, Cedric Njomo denied the Stallions an opportunity to score by stopping a penalty.
Joseph Atangana’s squad went to the game with an advantage having won their home game 2-0 in Yaounde on July 19.
For their last qualifier game, the Cadet Lions would meet the winner of the Togo- Ghana match.
