It comprises fratricidal battles, David and goliath confrontations and clashes of equals.
The draws for the quarter finals of the 2014 edition of the football cup of Cameroon were conducted on Friday October 24 at the seat of the Cameroon football federation with the following fixtures recorded. In Yaounde there will be a fratricidal war between little known Ouragan and Canon all of Yaounde.
Ouragan is the surprise guest at this stage of the competition coming from the Centre Regional league while Canon is waning in the championship where they are threatened by relegation and therefore counts on the cup to salvage their season.
The other fixture pits Apejes of Mfou against UMS of Loum. Apejes is currently 4th on the league table and engaged in a war on two fronts as they are involved in the contention for a spot in continental competitions next year as well as gunning for the cup title.
UMS on the contrary are 8th on the championship and have given up hopes of featuring among the top trio and will therefore focus on the Cup competition to equally salvage their season.
It will however be a David versus Goliath confrontation between Njalla Quan Academy and Coton Sport of Garoua. Coton Sport are current league leaders and logically should have an edge over Njalla Quan Academy who are 15th on the league table.
The last quarter final fixture will pit Kumbo Strikers against Panthere. Both teams have won the cup title before and are out to repeat the exploit.
However, Panthere has an edge in that they play in the elite championship and occupy an enviable 9th position while Kumbo Strikers are making their come back for the North West regional championship.
The away leg matches will take place on Wednesday October 29th while the return leg matches will be taking place on November 2nd.
