Vincent Aboubakar, the Cameroon striker, thinks that his country can cause an upset or two in the imminent World Cup, in which the African side must negotitae an extremely tough draw.
The Indomitable Lions face off in Group A of the competition with hosts Brazil, European dark horses Croatia and perennial World Cup qualifiers Mexico.
And Lorient forward Aboubakar has told FIFA’s official website of his belief in Cameroon’s chances: “The World Cup is a very tough competition and we need to put the disappointment of 2010 behind us.”
“I know we’re in an extremely difficult group once again but I think Cameroon can pull off a bit of a surprise. As long as we fight for the jersey, I’m sure God will help us.”
Cameroon play Mexico in Natal on June 13, Croatia in Manaus on June 18, and round off their group fixtures with a glamour tie against hosts and favourites Brazil in Brasilia on June 23.
