Cameroon renews confidence in Finke

The Cameroon Football Federation has confirmed German, Volker Finke as the Head Coach of the Indomitable lions despite rumours he was going to be sacked after the failed 2014 World Cup.

Finke is appointed alongside a team of other Cameroon coaches at a time some names were circulating in some quarters as potential replacement for the for former Firbourg coach.

He has been maintained despite the expectations from Cameroonians that he should have resigned for coming out of the World Cup with poor results.

Cameroon finished the World Cup at the 32nd position, with no point, a lone goal scored and nine conceded, besides the poor behaviour exhibited by players.

Following the decision, he would be assisted by Ghanaian Ibrahim Tanko with whom he has been working since his arrival in Cameroon.

Meanwhile one of Finke’s former assistant, Martin Ndtoungou Mpile is no longer part of the national team, while U-20 Coach, Alexandre Belinga is the second assistant and Bonaventure Djonkep the third assistant.

The Goalkeeper coach, Jacque Songo’o is left out, replace by Alioum Boucar. A new Team Press Officer, Vincent de Paul Atangana takes over from Raphael Nkoa and Oyono Afane is now the new National Team Director, replacing Oumaraini.

Philemon Tamo Moktomo takes over from Boubakary Sidiki as Team Doctor. It should be noted that the appointment of the team Press officer and Administrative Director of the national team initially teh preserve of the Ministry of sport was done by the Federation.
