Cameroon booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Nations Championship after they beat Democratic Republic of Congo 3-1 on Monday.

They progress as Group B winners on seven points alongside DR Congo, who had already qualified after victories against Angola and Ethiopia.

They will now meet Cote d’Ivoire in the knockout stage while hosts Rwanda and DR Congo will do battle.

Cameroon, who came into the game needing, at least a draw, took the lead in the 40th minute through Yazid Atouba.

In the second half, Jean-Marc Makusu equalised for DRC in the 48th minute.

Four minutes later, Moumi Ngamaku restored Cameroon lead before Samuel Nlend secured the win in 64 minutes.

In the group’s other game, Angola beat Ethiopia 2-1 to finish third on three points.
