The Cameroon Table Tennis Federation (Fecatt) organized a table tennis tournament dubbed “Grand prix Camrail" on October 11, 2014 in Garoua, Northern Region, with the support of the Cameroon Railways (Camrail), a Bolloré group company.
The competition held at the National Centre for Youth and Sports (CENAJES) in Garoua was attended by 60 table tennis players from the 10 regions of Cameroon under seniors, veterans, juniors and cadets categories.
"Two years ago, we took the resolution to support the Cameroonian Federation of Table Tennis (Fecatt) in organizing a competition in the North. We then shared with the Federation, the dream of popularizing in this part of the country, a sport not well known yet, today we are happy and satisfied with this initiative. Ngaoundere 2012 and Maroua 2013 editions have made it possible to bring us closer to this goal. Moreover, these competitions have identified champions," says Hamadou Sali, CEO of Camrail in a report by the Fecatt during the tournament.
Camrail sponsors this table tennis tournament since 2012, and promotes the sport through the gifts such as the competition equipment (tables, rackets, balls) to the Federation, facilitating transport of table tennis players at tournaments and the involvement of the corporate team in national competitions in this sport, says the Fecatt.
