Coton Sport eye last four as they host AC Leopards

Coton Sport will try to book their spot in the last four of the CAF Confederation Cup when they host AC Leopards in Garoua on Saturday.

Still undefeated in their Group A, the Cameroonian giants only need a draw from this matchday 5 encounter to secure a top spot finish as they enjoy a five-point lead over the Congolese with two more games to go.

And should third-placed AS Real Bamako fail to scoop the three points in Abidjan against ASEC Mimosas on Sunday, the ‘Cotonculteurs’ will progress automatically to the semifinals of the continental tournament.

The Malians revived their hopes of qualifying for the last four when they claimed a 2-1 shock win in Dolisie against AC Leopards a fortnight ago, and it is now up to the ‘Fauves du Niari’ to maintain or increase their one-point lead over their closest challengers.

AC Léopards’ boss Rémy Ayayos Ikounga put a lot of pressure on his technical staff ahead of this crucial trip to northern Cameroon, but his side will be facing a very confident Coton Sport outfit who have just enjoyed four-game winning run through all competitions.
