Cycling Lions who have been training in Mbalmayo in view of the upcoming cycling Tour of Cameroon have embarked on a reconnaissance tour of the race circuit.
They began yesterday with the first lap between Yaounde and Bafia. Meanwhile, the president of the cycling federation, Honore Yossi, has declared that there is the possibility of lining up a third team for Cameroon depending on the performance of the 20 cyclists presently in camp.
“Should the coach tell us they can valuably represent the country, the federation would explore means of putting up a third team, he said adding that the criterion will be the time record of the cyclists during the familiarisation tour of the race circuit.
There will no longer be a rest day in Bafoussam. There will be only one rest day in Kribi on March 22nd. Delegates for the 12th edition of the International cycling tour of Cameroon are thus expected to start arriving in the country, two days before the kickoff of the event.
