Moroccans are shaken by the spread of Ebola haemorrhagic fever on its soil during the competition.
AFCON 2015 in Morocco might not be played on 17th January or 8th February 2015 as originally planned. Morocco has just sent a report to the African Football Confederation (CAF) to see if the date of the competition is postponed because of the outbreak of Ebola haemorrhagic fever affecting several countries in West Africa. The decision that emanates from the Moroccan Ministry of health has been reported by the Ministry of youth and Sports in this country.
The Morocco health authorities fear a spread of the disease in their country because of this continental competition which may see the participation of several countries affected by the virus.
The release of Moroccan Sports Minister, quoted by the agency Maghreb Arab press specifies that a Moroccan delegation should meet with the leaders of the African Football Confederation (CAF) next week" to review the implementation of this report.
