Having been co-opted as a member of the Association of United States Football Coaches, Carl Enow Ngachu left Cameroon on January 12, 2016, but did not say for how long the refresher course will last.

Carl Enow Ngachu left the Douala international airport at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday aboard an Ethiopian Airways flight.

Talking to the press shortly before his departure, the heroic coach of the Indomitable Lionesses said he was co-opted as a member of the Association of United States Coaches. He sounded optimistic that the refresher course would enable him to acquire knowledge that he would use to better the performance of his team as well as gladly share with other coaches who would be in need of it.

He thanked the ministry of Sport and Physical Education and the Cameroon Football Federation for their efforts in facilitating his journey to Uncle Sam’s country.

Asked what his state of mind was at a time there were rumours of his sacking as trainer of the female national team, Ngachu said, “There is no story of my replacement. The person who is presented as my successor is a physical education trainer who came to do physical tests which he will put at the disposal of the National Technical Directorate. It is on the basis of these results that we will work. Everyone who can help the national team is welcome."

Then he concluded: “I don’t fear anything; if I’m asked today to leave I would leave. A good player cannot lack a team.”
