The president of Palmeiras, Paulo Nobre, has revealed that Samuel Eto'o, Pirlo and Didier Drogba, who have had their mark in world football, were offered to the club recently.
According to Nobre, Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto'o and Andrea Pirlo were offered to Palmeiras, but the operational costs made any deal impossible. The possibility of signing Pirlo was reported by an American newspaper, but the 36-year-old Italian midfielder recently made a switch from Juventus to New York City FC where he earns a high salary.
Eto'o, who was wanted by São Paulo at a point, moved to Antalyaspor in Turkey while former Chelsea star Didier Drogba also plays in American club Montreal Impact. Paulo Nobre told TV Gazeta: "The agents in charge of Pirlo, Eto'o and Drogba's affairs contacted Palmeiras about any possible interest, once their contracts came to an end. But their wages are prohibitive, there is no chance of coming to an agreement over a transfer. At the present time, nothing has come through which could lead to talks."
