Eto’o deal close to conclusion

After just six month as an Everton player, Samuel Eto‘o is set to leave the club this weekend for Italian side Sampdoria.

Eto’o’s arrival at Goodison Park was met with much acclaim and excitement from Evertonians, but after an initial good spell he has missed the last few games and with rumours of a bust-up with manager Roberto Martinez, few will be sad to see him leave.

The Cameroon international flew into Italy to undergo a medical at Sampdoria after the protracted deal looked almost dead in the water, and he is set to sign for the Serie A side over the weekend.
