Former FC Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o has thanked his former Catalan teammates Lionel Messi and Deco for their recent visit to Gabon.

Deco and Messi recently travelled to Gabon to lay the first stone of a new stadium, with the Argentine still on holiday after his Copa America tournament.

The Cameroonian, who opened up a training foundation in Gabon in 2012, wished his former star teammates a safe flight to Africa, thanking them for visiting his “other country”.

“I wish you a safe journey to my other country: Gabon. There, you will discover warm and welcoming people,” he wrote on his official Instagram account.

“Thank you for keeping your promise! I couldn't be there with you because my agenda didn't allow for it, but enjoy your stay and as agreed, after Libreville it will be Yaoundé. See you soon!”
