On Wednesday, CAF conducted the draw for the group stage of the next African Cup of Nations (CAN) scheduled from January 17 to February 8 , 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.

Cameroon is in Group D alongside Guinea, Mali, and again ... the Ivory Coast.

The group has "no big surprises," responded Volker Finke to camfoot.com. For the coach of the Indomitable Lions, each opponent has to be taken seriously.

The results could come from a "good preparation with better conditions like that in Brazil (2014)."

Cameroon now know her opponents of the group stage of the 2015 Afcon, are you satisfied with this draw?

There are no big surprises in our group. This is a solid group with Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea and Mali. We cannot say we are satisfied or not. This is the draw who wanted us to be in this group. For me, the most important are the conditions in which we will work for games, the spirit with which we prepare. We need to work with great concentration, to be ready for the competition. And I am also pleased that we can play all our games in Malabo. We have an affordable group, unlike that where there are Senegal, Algeria, Ghana and South Africa.

Again, Ivory Coast after a win and a draw in the qualifying phase, do you feel that this is the same team that will face Cameroon?

We do not speculate in football. Ivory Coast can fight again, why not?

In general it is always that DR Congo is with Cameroon. This time it is not DR Congo, but the Ivory Coast. This is the draw who wanted it to be so. This is not something extraordinary. Ivory Coast is the Ivory Coast. Us, we will work to advance to the next round.

Which team do you fear in this group?

There are a few months everyone said you have to rebuild the national team, it was not important to be qualified for this or that. But must reconstruction to be ready in two or three years. I am a little surprised because now everyone says he must win the African Cup. For us, every opponent will be hard to beat. This is because Cameroon has a completely rebuilt team with an average age between 23 and 24 years. There are many young people like Fabrice Ondoa, Oyongo, and Edgar Salli. There are many players who are not yet very experienced.

Under what conditions would you prepare for this competition?

We need to focus on work. We will play to win each of our opponents. It will be very difficult, but we will be prepared to make a good nations cup. This is another team of Cameroon that made a good start. It was six games including four wins and two draws. We have to continue like this, the results can follow after. If we can make a good preparation with better conditions in Brazil (2014) including accommodation, transport, logistics, have facilities, traveling in a good atmosphere, we can talk about results. To win always entails a lot of work. We must not focus on our opponents, but the work we started there three months.
