Fifa has prolonged the mandate of the Normalisation Committee for the third time since their installation in July 2013. The third mandate is expected to run from February 28 to March 20, 2015.

Nothing much has been said about Fifa's condition but there are speculations that it would give government time to put in place a provisional management committee.

The Normalisation Committee was expected to hold elections and hand over on February 28, but given the decision of the CAS, in favour of Essomba Eyenga and Abdouraman Hamadou faulting Fecafoot Fifa was left with only the option of prolonging the stay of the committee.

Elections were set for February 25 but the ruling of the Court for led to the suspension of elections and cancellation of the general Assembly.

Fecafoot rejected the decision of the Conciliation and Arbitrary Chambers of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee, CNOSC, cancelling the general assembly of 23 August 2014 which validated the statutes and the electoral process.

CCA-CNOSC cancelled all resolutions taken during the said general assembly to adopt the statutes and electoral code, by its decision of October 30.

The argument was that the competent general assembly was that of 2009 and not August 23, 2013 which the Normalisation Committee in collaboration with Fifa opted for.

Elections are expected to start at the base for a new president to be elected and presently, there seems to be a consensus building up following the meeting of the actors and the Prime Minister on February 24.
