Abdouraman Hamadou, President of Etoile Filante football club of Garoua has challenged the decision of the world’s football governing body FIFA, confirming Tombi à Rocko Sidiki as the President of the Cameroon Football Association (FECAFOOT).

He wrote to the President of the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in reaction to the confirmation of Tombi à Rocko, requesting to hold talks with the President to find out whether in the present dispensation Tombi can be considered the legal President of FECAFOOT.

After Tombi was elected President of FECAFOOT on September 28, 2015, Abdouraman filed a petition at the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the National Olympic and Sports Committee, on the non respect of the electoral procedure. The institution on its part passed a verdict considering the election null and void.

The battle for the legality of Tombi at the helm of FECAFOOT dragged on until the Court of Arbitration for Sports last February 24 finally wrote to FIFA requesting for clarification of the situation in FECAFOOT.

The world’s football governing body on March 2 responded confirming Tombi à Rocko as FECAFOOT president following the elections of last September 28. FIFA’s response was also based on Prime Minister Philemon Yang’s congratulation letter of September 30 to Tombi à Rocko on his election.
