The Cameroon female football championship is set to kick-off on Saturday March 21, 2015 after a gala match in which Louves MINPROFF beat Panthere Security 1-0 was played to kick-start the season.

The championship was initially set for March 7, but clubs demanded that the date be shifted for them to get things on board, Celine Eko announced during a press briefing today.

Ten (10) teams will take part in this year’s edition as against 14 last year. The opening match will see the two finalists of 2014; Louves Minproff takes on AS Police in Yaounde.

The ten teams include FAP Amazon, Canon Yaoundé, Femina stars Ebolowa, ASSF Diamaré, Green City, louves Minproff, Best stars Limbe, Panther Security of Garoua, AS Police and vent du Nord.

Lorema Girls, Emergence of Yaoundé, AS Garoua Kirikou, AS Locomotive, the Littoral clubs Franck Rohlicek School, Caiman Girls and Douala United Girls were downgraded to an inferior division last year for failing to play some matches.
