The 17th edition of the secondary school games dubbed Fenassco ‘A’, kicked off over the weekend in Nkongsamba.
The launching ceremony was marked by speeches from the government delegate to the Nkongsamba urban council, the president of Fenassco A and the Minister of Secondary Education.
Prominent among those present was the Minister of Sports and Physical Education Adoum Garoua and the president of the national Olympic and sports committee, Kalkaba Malboum.
The opening ceremony was also marked by match past of the various delegations, artistic presentations and a masculine football match pitting the Adamawa against the Centre Regions.
The games are taking place this year on the theme, school sports and the promotion of patriotic values.
For one week, athletes from secondary and technical schools around the country will be competition in handball, volleyball, basketball, football, gymnastics, traditional wrestling, table tennis and athletics.
