Rwandan rookie Hakuzimana is the best rider in the U-23 category in the general classification having amassed 18:50:23 in the last six stages beating Swiss Sandro Trevisani who has been in the lead all week at the ongoing Tour du Cameroon.
Hakuzimana, who is competing in an international cycling event for the very first time in his career, has quickly become a hit in the West African nation for his strength and zeal to improve every other day.
Meanwhile, Nathan Byukusenge finished fourth in yesterday's stage 6 from Limbé to Doula, a total distance of 94km while teammate Emile Bintunimana came in 14th, four seconds behind the first peloton which had the first four riders.
Teammates Abraham Ruhumuriza, Hakuzimana and Patrick Byukusenge finished in 18th, 23rd and 24th, respectively. Bintunimana is still third in the general classification with 18:38:04, 1:07 behind the leader Clovis Kamzong of Cameroon who has held onto the yellow jersey all week.
Ruhumuriza, who won two stages at the 2010 edition, is fifth in the general classification, 1:28 behind Kamzong while Nathan is 10th.
