Hon. Mbanya’s football tourney to crown Kumba mayor’s competition

To crown the various football inter-quarter tournaments in the three sub-divisions of Kumba urban constituency, Honourable barrister Bolivie Mbanya Petnga will be organising a competition that will see the various winners of the three council areas clash for the parliamentary trophy.

This was disclosed to press men by the parliamentarian during a chat following his return from the Nation Assembly after the June session.

Before setting up this decision, the Mp said he initially intended to donate a football trophy for the constituency, but unfortunately, the various mayors have taken the initiative to do so and he could not go further to organize another tournament.

Apart from the parliamentary trophy which will have a handsome cash prize, the final will include other sporting activities such as cross country race which will cut across the entire constituency, sports walk for elderly people and games which at the end, prizes w3ill be awarded to winners. This according to him will help keep the population one and indivisible.

Apart from sporting activities, the MP also announced that work for his micro project committee for the various sub-divisions has been completed with all their projects already realized. The committee which according to him has worked with all fairness to identify priority projects will continue to follow up in their various areas to come up with projects that can attract funding from higher quarters.

He announced that in the days ahead, he will be meeting with the Minister of Urban development and Housing to lobby for support to enable the waste disposal company, HYSACAM, come to Kumba.
