...while Congo choose Mbankomo.

The final phase of the 30th Africa Cup of Nations tournament starts in a month in Equatorial Guinea. The 16 qualifying countries have until January 7, 2015 at the latest to inform the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the final list of players selected for this major competition of the continent.

Volker Finke, coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon has already completed a draft list of thirty players shortlisted soon to be published by the Cameroon Football Federation.

The German technician also chose Gabon, one of the neighboring countries of Equatorial Guinea to group the players for training. The choice of Gabon is not supported by some Cameroonian sports authorities who believe that the Indomitable Lions could use as their preparation grounds, the CAF Mbankomo Center of Excellence in the outskirts of Yaoundé or Centre KSA at Douala-Bekoko closer to Malabo, the base of the Cameroon national team in Equatorial Guinea, as Gabon.

During Equatorial Guinea / Gabon 2012, Niger selected KSA center of Douala-Bekoko while the Stallions of Burkina Faso had prepared for the 2012 AFCON at the CAF Centre of Excellence at Mbankomo.

It is precisely this ultra modern center that the Democratic Republic of Congo has chosen to complete its 3 to 15 January 2015 preparatory stage for the AFCON.

Equatorial Guinea, Leopards of DR Congo will be based in Ebebiyin in Pool B in Cape Verde as Tunisia and Zambia. And Cameroon will play in Pool D in Malabo in the company of the Ivory Coast, Mali and Guinea Conakry.

The final phase of the AFCON 2015 will take place on Saturday January 17 to Sunday, February 8, 2015.
