Queens Park Rangers face a battle to sign Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o with the Bianconeri interested.

Juventus have reportedly contacted Samuel Eto'o in the hope of agreeing a one-year deal with the former Chelsea striker.

The Bianconeri are looking for a forward to replace the injured Alvaro Morata, who joined from Real Madrid for £16 million earlier this summer.

The Serie A club have identified Eto'o as a top target, as well as Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

They will face stiff competition, however, from Queens Park Rangers who are also said to be in for the striker. Manager Harry Redknapp is keen to bring Eto'o's experience to the QPR squad, and the player's agent will fly to London to strike a deal with the club, according to the Daily Mirror.

Eto'o had a solid first season in the Premier League with Chelsea, scoring 9 goals in 21 appearances for the Blues. Though he is nearing the end of his career he is a proven commodity in attack and boasts Champions League-winning experience.

The Gazzetta suggests that Lukaku remains Juventus's top target, but only if midfielder Arturo Vidal is sold to Manchester United.

Eto'o would be a much cheaper option than the Belgian as the 34-year-old is currently out of contract. The deal would reportedly be for one year with an option for a second season.

Juventus are also in the market for a defender after Andrea Barzagli was injured in training, with Fiorentina's Stefan Savic and Manchester City's Matija Nastasic reportedly on their radar.
