Marseille centre-half Nicolas N’Koulou is a reported summer target for Leicester and Tottenham.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Premier League title-chasers are each eyeing N’Koulou as they look to bolster their squads in preperation for European football.
Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes secured their place in the Champions League at the weekend, while second-placed Spurs’ confirmation is edging ever closer.
And a place in Europe’s elite club competition is apparently what N’Koulou is searching for, as well as a solid contract, following Marseille’s troubled campaign.
The Ligue 1 giants have struggled with on and off the field issues and sit 14th in the table as a result.
N’Koulou is being watched across Europe though and Schalke have reportedly made an approach for the defender ahead of Leicester and Tottenham and are willing to pay him around £2.4m per year.
However, the 26-year-old will not make any imminent decisions over his future destination, with Valencia also interested.
Champions League football could swing N’Koulou in the Premier League pair’s favour, and the Cameroon international has good experience to help either side.
N’Koulou joined Marseille in the summer of 2011 from Monaco and has been a consistent part of their team ever since.
Two seasons in the Champions League and two terms in the Europa League with Marseille would make him a valuable addition to Mauricio Pochettino’s team or the Foxes as they get ready to make the big jump.
