Lions to play Thailand, Indonesia in warm-up matches

Cameroon will send a strong team to play Thailand and Indonesia in warm-up matches later this month. The Cameroon Football Federation has announced its 20 players for the trip to Southeast Asia where they will play in Indonesia on March 25 and face Thailand on March 30 at Bangkok’s SCG Stadium.

The players include those who played at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations such as captain Stephane M’bia of Sevilla and Schalke defender Joel Matip.

Thailand will also play Singapore in Nakhon Ratchasima on March 26 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their football relations.

Meanwhile, the Thai Premier League is taking a two-week break as the full national side will play in warm-up matches and the U22 team will play in an Olympic qualifying tournament later this month.

However, two matches, which were postponed earlier in the season, will be played during the period with Bangkok Glass taking on Si Sa Ket today and Buriram facing Si Sa Ket on March 22.

The league will resume on April 4. Army United are leaders with 13 points from five games, ahead of Suphanburi and Muang Thong who both have 11 points. Meanwhile, an Indonesian sports apparel manufacturer has apologised after coming under attack for printing washing instructions deemed sexist on the shirt of a local top flight soccer club. “Washing Instructions. Give this jersey to your woman. IT’S HER JOB,” Salvo Sports printed on the inside of the shirt they designed for Pusamania Borneo, who begin their Indonesian Super League campaign next month.

Salvo were hit with complaints on social media after posting pictures of the offensive message on Twitter before they issued an explanation and an unreserved apology.

“The message is simply, instead of washing it in the wrong way you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable,” Salvo posted.
