MINFOPRA Launches Football Tournament

The ministry of public service and administrative Reforms on Friday December 4th launched a football tournament for staff of the ministry and other related structures. The launching ceremony which took place at the Post and Telecommunications playground in Yaounde was marked by a presentation of taichi, a match past of the various teams and their fan clubs and two football matches.

The ball was set rolling for the competition by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Service, Ngambo Fondjo Pierre Vincent who gave the kick off to the first encounter pitting the National School of Administration and Magistracy against the department of human resources, DDRHE. The encounter was completed dominated by ENAM who benefitted from the youthfulness of their players to wallop DDRHE 3-0. The second encounter pitted ISMP against CAB.

The matches were characterised by the singing and dancing of fans, merry making and fun. A minute of silence was observed before the kick off of the encounters in memory of an ENAM student who died while playing football some month back. Nine teams are taking part in the competition which will comprise two phases; a championship and a cup. At the end of the championship, the first eight teams qualify for the Cup competition. The championship will end on April 22nd while the cup finals shall take place on June 3rd.

The geared organised by the association of workers of the ministry of Public Service is geared towards instilling a spirit of fraternity and collaboration among workers of the ministry and other structures attached to it like ENAM and ISMP.
